Project Type: Underground Fuel Tank Removal, Boiler Removal, and Soil Remediation
Location: Indianapolis (Northside)
Services:
Description:
Marquette Manor had a backup generator fueled by a 1000-gallon UST (Underground Storage Tank). After the unit was no longer workable, Indy Enviroworks provided specialized services to remove and remediate the out-of-use fuel tank. Our team followed all guidelines established by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) to ensure that the environment remained safe and clean.
Our team first removed the old UST from its location and used a plasma cutter to carefully cut up and remove any remaining boiler parts from the basement. This step is important because, without it, pieces of metal could be left behind which can cause significant harm if not properly removed.
We then soil remediation services, backfilling the area with new soil to prevent any contamination. We then collected both soil and groundwater samples to measure for any existing contaminants in order to follow IDEM standards. To ensure that all hazardous materials were properly disposed of, we safely transported the equipment from the site for recycling or disposal at a licensed facility.
